Tug-O-War: The Bittersweet Literary State

PANEL DISCUSSION + READING / SPOKEN WORD PERFORMANCE
10 April 2014 @ Free Word Centre
[Facebook]

Often, mirth and misery are woven into literature, forming a delicate tension between the lines. Singaporean writers, Isa Kamari, Krishna Udayasankar and Josephine Chia, and Booker Prize finalist, Romesh Gunesekera, will share personal experiences that have birthed intense highs and lows, and how this has influenced their writing. From these, which do they choose to retain, which do they choose to forgo?

Moderated by Loose Muse’s Agnes Meadows, the event will also showcase a reading and spoken word performance by UK-based Singapore poets Chow Teck Seng and Ng Yi-Sheng, followed by nibbles and drinks.

Join us for a celebration of writing from the other side of the world.

This event is co-organised by National Arts Council Singapore, Loose Muse and Platform 65.
